Helping Parents Make Sense of the Common Core Standards K-12

Not too long ago I came across this website that had free resources not only for parents but for teachers to give to parents on Back To School Nights or Open House. Making sense of Common Core Standards and implementing them in classrooms in 48 states will be challenging to say the least. I can only imagine how difficult it will be for parents to make sense of them as well. These wonderful materials have free documents for each grade level English Language Arts and Math Common Core Standards. Each guide will explain what their child will learn by the end of each school year,. what their child will be working on during the school year  as well as great tips for how to help their child at home. It is easy to read and understand and perfect for parents with children in different grade levels and for teachers to help parents navigate through the standards.. It also gives tips about how to talk with your child's teacher and how to keep the conversation focused on the most important topics in each grade level which hopefully will help you during parent conferences. I was really excited to share this with my daughter and daughter -in-law as she is always asking me for advice on how to help her son who is in 2nd grade at home. I hope you find them as helping as I did.
Thanks for all you do to make a difference for your students and their parents.
