Back to School Common Core Writing

Use writer's workshop to interview friends and make a classbook

Where did summer go?  I know, it's hard to believe that summer is winding down already.  It seems that we were just getting out of summer school.  I have one week until the first day of school and I can feel it coming fast!

When students get back to school they are full of stories and all the new adventures they had over the summertime.  A friend interview is a fun way to get students back into the groove of writing plus allow them to tell about themselves!

An important skill in writing, but a difficult transition for some, is to be able to go from asking questions to using the information gained from the questions into statements that build into a paragraph.  A way to practice this is with the friend interview in a writer's workshop model.

This packet is aligned to the common core & contains pre-made questions for a back to school or anytime interview.  I have also included 4 sets of interview question sheets for differentiating from grades 1-3
2 types of rough draft paper
2 types of final draft paper
1 illustration page
3 alternative covers

Back to School writing activity for writer's workshop

Once the interviews are completed, bind the interviews together and make a class book-3 different covers are included.  It is sure to become one of the favorite books in your class!!

Do you think dissertation writing is a hectic task? Do you find it extremely lengthy, boring and exhausting? If so, you are no different than other students and it is absolutely normal to think like this. See more here essay writing services
