Do the Common Core Standards intimidate you, or are you
already knee deep in the implementation?
Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how we view the Common Core,
I have yet to begin the implementation in my district. This doesn’t mean I’m not thinking about them
because I have been knee deep in researching them by choice. Yes, by choice, I’m that person. Crazy I know!
As you can tell by the title of my blog I’m all about
cooperative learning. As research has
proven students tend to learn best by teaching others, experiencing, and
discussing. The cooperative learning
advocate in me believes that creating opportunities for our students to work
together will be a key to succeeding
with the Common Core.
I have begun creating card packs for a strategy that I'm calling
Fix-It. Students have to think a bit deeper by finding incorrect answers and then fixing what is wrong. You can find out more about the
strategy and download the new freebie HERE.
I am happy to be a contributor to Common Core Classrooms, and hope that I can help you along with this journey in which we are all headed!

Hi Mandy...I am very excited about finding your blog and am now a follower. My district is implementing K-1 CCSS this year and since I will be working with both grade levels, I have a lot to learn. I look forward to reading your insights and ideas.
